This research study defines the gap in trend forecasting, while proposing a method to improve trend-forecasting models. With a primary focus on style and colour trends, trend forecasting models are missing the increasingly importance of consumer behaviour. A survey is conducted to examine the key influences for a consumer, along with their true intentions when making a purchasing decision. These results are then implemented into the ANN model in order to properly propose a new forecasting model that takes a variety of social elements into account.
