Usability tests show, many medical ventilators today are hard to use due to their confusing user interface (UI). Because of this, Airrya is designed as a mobile controlled ventilator application to profoundly improve the user experience (UX). We took the proven user experience best practices and merged it with accessible features on mainstream mobile operating systems to create a versatile ventilation experience for patients and caregivers. This paper describes the design thinking process and methodology of the proposed solution. The goal is to create a UI that best fits the needs of the ventilator community.
