This paper studies the journey of immigrant entrepreneurs from the trigger of business ideas to the launch of their ventures in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Immigrant entrepreneurs employ various methods to find entrepreneurial opportunities influenced by their culture, background, and previous places of residence. This paper examines Vogel’s conceptual framework of opportunity recognition. It aims to develop a new conceptual framework in the field of immigrant entrepreneurship that shows various stages from the trigger of business ideas to the launch of their venture. Furthermore, it highlights the various barriers and problems that immigrant entrepreneurs face in the course of starting a business.
