The human hand is one of the most powerful yet underrated tool that a person has. Unfortunately, there is a rise in the number of yearly amputees that are a result of severe medical conditions or injuries. Commercially available prosthetics are now designed to maximize both functionality and aesthetics. With the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to the field, prosthetics can now be designed and developed by using ML for object classification and thus grasping patterns. A physical prototype was 3D printed using the part of the open-source 3D printed life-size robot, InMoov [18]. Open-source libraries such as MediaPipe [13], OpenCV [14] and CVZone [15] were used in order to process real time video feed from a usb camera to control the physical prototype.
