Cohesion is required between the public and private sector to help ensure that best practices of the development practice can adapt to local contexts. In this sense developing transit-oriented development is a bit of a dark art in the development space. One method of addressing is by using a transit-oriented development typology model to assess the potential and ease applying the development model within a station area. This paper examines a recent transit-oriented development typology model developed by the Greater Manchester 2080 thinktank and modifies the evaluation matrix’s key performance indicators to fit within the policy context of the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area.
