The media production industry within fashion is an impactful force that often determines what's popular on a materialistic and cultural level. This project breaks down how the media upholds an elitist system that privileges a select few. This project particularly questions the favouritism shown to communities that are white, male and financially secure. Through creative, practice-led work along with a support paper, this project highlights current systemic barriers for communities excluded from mainstream narratives in the fashion industry and presents potential solutions and outcomes if the fashion industry expanded through an ethical lens and authentic practices.
