Capturing the Outcomes and Impacts of SSHRC Funding in Food Studies 1998-2007

This project describes the experiences of food studies researchers who were funded by SSHRC, in order to assess the outcomes and impacts of SSHRC funding in the area of food studies. It has also allowed us to develop and test innovative and complementary methodological approaches for measuring the outcomes and impacts of funding in this field. As an emerging field, food studies offer an interesting and challenging context in which to evaluate the impact of the SSHRC funding structure on research outcomes and the impact of this research on academic and non-academic users.
