Sentiment Analysis: Water Crisis

The objective of this project was to identify the affective states of commenters in news stories about the First Nations water crisis and determine how they are connected to settler-colonial mythologies about Indigenous peoples. It connects public sentiments on the water crisis to sociopolitical imaginaries about Indigenous peoples while also offering a counter-narrative to the colonial mythologies within the comments. There is also a visual representation of the sentiment analysis that goes along with the essay.
