Canadian Blackface Culture: Confronting Racist Materials in Canadian Archives

For many reasons, collections hide or even de-accession racist material. Does this contribute to a false sense of our history? How should we handle racist collections? How does our lack of awareness contribute to erasing important, although problematic material? How can we contextualize this material and make it accessible? We argue for highlighting these collections and discuss approaches.
