The Work Issue is an anthology of creative non-fiction written by members of Toronto's acclaimed creative writing program for women, Sister Writes. The volume offers unique insight into the lived intersectional experiences of women in 20 areas of the service industry including waitressing, retail, factories and call centres. In this mini documentary, participants read excerpts from their stories. The documentary was co-created by Lauren Kirshner (Sister Writes founder and Ryerson University Assistant Professor of English) and Francesca Awotundun (Ryerson alumnus and digital content creator). The Work Issue is now on sale in bookstores across Canada and can also be read on the Sister Writes website.
