Simplified Nodes with Low Complexity ROADMs for Ultra-High-Capacity Networks

<p>In this paper, we study the need for deploying low complexity ROADMs in ultra-high-speed networks. We show how the introduction of fiber express sections within a ROADM reduces the complexity, cost, and energy consumption of the networks. </p>
